For the 98th time since 1926, residents of north-central Connecticut and western Massachusetts will soon be celebrating tradition, sampling wonderful homemade delicacies and enjoying a variety of live music at the annual Italian Festival, sponsored by the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society. The feast is slated for August 4 and 5, from 5 to 11 p.m., and August 6 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Admission to the grounds at 93 Park Avenue is just $3, with children under 12 free. The annual gathering of family and friends gives thanks to the Blessed Mother and celebrates the club's Italian heritage. It kicks off Thursday evening with a traditional candlelight procession through neighboring streets, followed by refreshments. The customary Sunday morning Catholic Mass, spoken partly in Italian, will commence at 9 a.m.
