No other artist captures the intensity of sport like Thomas Salomon. He dramatically interprets his love for the game in the one style that best reflects its grit and excitement: abstract expressionism. His one-of-a-kind mixed media collages are truly as unique as the legendary individuals who have played the games of baseball, basketball, football, and hockey.
Salomon is a Cleveland native boasting an art career spanning over 50 years. He is a former college professor and elementary school art teacher who turned his passion for the 1949 and 1950 Bowman baseball cards into paintings that intersperse media images, baseball cards and photographs with vivid color schemes. His series of original paintings is titled “Collages of the Greats.” Salomon’s sports “Collages” exhibit has been shown in various galleries and art shows since the early 1990’s such as Gallery 53 in Cooperstown, NY, the Babe Ruth Museum in Baltimore, numerous sports memorabilia shows around the country, and more. Over the last 25 years, his “Collages” have graced the covers of magazines, sports articles and promotional literature for various MLB teams.
