In celebration of the 225th anniversary of Gioachino Rossini's birth, OperaDelaware will hold a spring festival featuring the Italian composer's popular setting of "Cinderella" and his rarely-performed tragedy "Semiramide." The 2017 festival runs April 29, April 30, May 6 and May 7, with afternoon and evening performances of "Semiramide" and "La Cenerentola."
The 2016-2017 season also boasts the return of the opera company's Inside the Opera Studio series with "Best of Bel Canto," "Devils, Drunks & Dastardly Dudes" and "Ladies' Night," along with three Sunday Artist Spotlight recitals starring 2017 festival principal artists. Tickets go on sale Sept. 12 at www.operade.org.
