Rockaway Township UNICO will offer two $750 scholarships to residents of the township and Rockaway Borough. The UNICO National Organization has a mission of promoting both Italian heritage and education. This local service organization plans to reward two $750 dollar scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to attend an accredited institution of higher learning in September of 2017 are eligible if they live in the township or borough and are of Italian descent.
The brief application for these two scholarships requires applicants to submit an essay that addresses how their Italian heritage shaped them. Applications can be obtained from Jon Roman in the Guidance Department at Morris Hills High School (973-664-2320, from Rebecca Rock (973-664-2220) in the Guidance Department at Morris Knolls High School, from Ellen Ross (973-627-6674 Ext 135) in the Guidance Department at Morris Catholic High School or from Kevin Elias (973-627-4600) in the Guidance Department at Morris County Vocational and Technical School The application is also available at the Unico website www.rtunico.org.
