March 2023 has been a very busy month in LA for the Italian promotion, in different fields, organized by Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and dedicated to Italian companies and to the excellence of Italian talents. The first event, dedicated to the entertainment industry in collaboration with APA (Association Producers Audiovisual), had the presence of the Italian Vice Minister of Culture Lucia Borgonzoni, who met the major production companies one by one. 

The second event concerned a successful three days fashion exhibition, called Roadshow, organized in collaboration with Confindustria (Confederation of Italian Industries) for the presentation of new fashion designers of small and medium size Italian companies to U.S market. Roadshow continued its presentation in Miami, Dallas and Atlanta.

After these events, precisely on March 16, it took place the celebration of the VII edition of “Italian design day” at Luminaire showroom in the design district in collaboration with the AIA (American Institute of Architects). The main topic this year was the quality, that is to say, a discussion about the new innovative and holistic vision for architecture and design to ensure durability of the new products.

Welcoming remarks were presented to an audience of 80 people (architects, designers, retailers and press) by the Consul General of Italy Raffaella Valentini as well as by the trade commissioner Alessandra Rainaldi and by the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute Emanuele Amendola. Keynote speaker was the renowned Architect Roberto Palomba (studio Palomba Serafini Associates -Milan) . Present at the round table were Carlo Caccavale Hon. AIA LA Executive Director, Antony Morey, Vice President of Design and Strategy of Luminaire and Susan Chang, partner of AIA LA and founder of Shimoda Design Group.

The Luminaire showroom showcases a section of the best Italian design brands of furniture and lighting (Flos, Davide Groppi, Santambrogio, etc).

The internationally renowned Architect and Designer Palomba in 1994 founded with Ludovica Serafini “Palomba Serafini Associates studio“ for this specific goal: to look for the perfection of interior and industrial design and architectural projects worldwide. That’s why he became a world authority for the best Italian brands such as Boffi, Cappellini , Kartell etc. and was recognized with numerous international awards, such as Compasso d’Oro (Italy). Among his best works, it is worth to be mentioned the restoration of a magnificent Palazzo Ducale in the region of Puglia.
