What's up with WTI: Editorial # 151

Ciao from Rome!  Dear friends, another month has passed, and I was so happy to meet again a lot of fantastic Italian American friends in the delegation of the Conference of Presidents of Major Italian American Organizations, here in Rome. Too much time has passed! A special thanks to my friend Basil Russo, leader of the Conference. Please enjoy here a video and a few photos of the welcome event organized for them by We the Italians at the Centro Studi Americani.

In the meantime, we are working on another important event organized by us for another important group of Italian Americans: the board of the National Italian American Foundation will be our guest at a gala dinner that will be held next June 20 at the Club of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

Starting in June, our video and audio podcast We the ItaliaNews will become weekly, and will be published weekly on Thursdays. We always thank our loyal followers who see or listen to us on all the different platforms where the podcast is published.

Our We the Italians’ family keeps growing. This month we welcome a great new Ambassador, a “thematic” one: Francesca Villanti is our new Ambassador to the Art world.

Francesca is an art historian who has worked for more than 20 years on the conception, development and implementation of cultural projects, author of numerous publications on Italian and international art of the 20th century. A professor of modern art history at the Faculty of Architecture at La Sapienza University in Rome, she has curated and organized numerous reviews on great masters. In 2020 she was call to manage the Mediamuseum in Pescara to rethink the spaces and revive the film museum. Since 2021 she has been an advisor to the Italian Ministry of Culture.

Let me remember you that the yearbook of We the Italians is available with the 24 interviews of the past year, both in Italian and English. This is our eighth book: one in English, one in Italian, and six yearbooks like this one, in two languages. In this first month the edition of 2021 has sold much more than the editions of previous years in their first months of release, and this makes me very happy because it rewards the work of all of us. I hope more of you will want to purchase the volume, which you can preview and buy here.

Please don’t forget our virtual store, the perfect place where to buy gifts for your family, your friends and – why not – for yourself! You can find more than 20 products in different colors: t-shirts, tank tops, hoodies, onesies, mugs, notebooks, pillows, totes, tapestries, pins, laptop and smartphone cases, magnets, stickers, masks. Buy We the Italians!

It’s all for this month, please stay safe and take care. The future’s so bright, we gotta wear shades! Ciao from Rome
