Community members, government leaders and local Special Olympics athletes gathered Thursday at the Don Fox Community Park entrance near North Castle Heights Avenue for a ribbon cutting for Lebanon’s newest park addition, a series of bocce ball courts.
Lebanon Mayor Bernie Ash said it was just one addition to the growth of the city’s parks, an addition that has special significance as the local Special Olympics athletes prepare for the state summer games May 17 at Lipscomb University.
