In a Facebook post Friday morning, newly-acquired Boston Celtics forward Luigi Datome pledged his "efforts" and "soul" to his new team while stating the goal of proving he's an NBA player.

"It's time to pack!" wrote Datome, who the Celtics acquired Thursday along with Jonas Jerebko for veteran forward Tayshaun Prince. "Obviously enthusiastic to start a new experience with the Celtics, but first I want to thank all Detroit for last season and a half spent together: Who brought me here from Italy, who helped me getting better as a player, we stuck with me in the tough moments and who made me smile outside the court."
