Be you a Beppe, Pepe, Yossi, Vanya, Joanne or Joe, Wednesday, March 19, is dedicated to you. The day comes courtesy of the saint himself, filled with delicacies and lucky traditions, including wearing the color red. St. Joseph is the father of Jesus Christ.
The date of March 19, by the way, is Father’s Day in Italy. He was the husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary and serves as the patron saint of workers. Joseph was a carpenter by trade and, as a nod to his woodworking craft, breadcrumbs can be found liberally on foods this day. And that leads us into the foods for such a feast day.
