"Opera Italiana is in the Air" takes to Miami's Regatta Park Saturday night for a free concert under the stars with some of the biggest names from the Italian stage. President and Music Director Maestro Alvise Casellati is bringing his outdoor production to the Magic City as part of a tour of select U.S. cities. Soprano Davinia Rodriguez and tenor Vincenzo Costanzo will sing together for the first time in Miami.
"The orchestra will be composed of Miami's top professionals in the first roles, leading local students and new graduates from the city's major conservatories," according to organizers. The goal of the production is to promote a greater appreciation of Italian opera in a casual, family-friendly outdoor environment.
