The most successful soccer coach in history is Italian. In Spain he has been "crowned" as “Carlo Magno” (Charlemagne), in Italy he is known as "Carletto" or the "King of Cups" and last April he achieved two unique results in the history of soccer. At the helm of Real Madrid, the most prestigious club in the world, he won the Primera División, the highest Spanish championship, achieving a Guinness World Record result in the most loved and important sport of the Old Continent.

The reason is simple: before Real Madrid, the Italian coach had won at least one national title in the other four most important leagues in Europe: the Italian Serie A, the German Bundesliga, the French Ligue 1 and the English Premier League.

Besides, thanks to its success against Manchester City, Real Madrid has qualified for the Champions League final in which it will face Liverpool. Carlo Ancelotti as a result became the first coach in the history of the competition to have achieved a fifth qualification to the final, an achievement already achieved in 2003, 2005 and 2007 with AC Milan and in 2014 also with Real Madrid.

He is coach Carlo Ancelotti, born in Reggiolo, a small town in the province of Reggio Emilia in Emilia Romagna, and after being one of the strongest Italian midfielders of the 1980s, he has become the biggest international star of soccer coaches a few weeks ago.

It all started at the end of the 70's when the very young player began his career with the Parma team, in the third Italian division. After a few years of apprenticeship, he moved on to Roma, the team from the capital of Italy that in over sixty years of life had won the Italian championship only once. In eight years he won the national title and four times the Italian Cup. In the following five years he plays with AC Milan winning the Italian championship twice, an Italian Supercup, two Champions' Cups, two European Supercups and two Intercontinental Cups! He retires in 1992, at the age of 32, and immediately becomes the assistant coach of the Azzurri, the Italian national soccer team, thus beginning the coaching career that will take him exactly 30 years later to become the most successful coach in the major European leagues.

Carlo Ancelotti becomes a multilingual migrant, moving from the fields of the teams in his region to the most prestigious in the world. From 1999 to 2022, he coached (winning at least one national championship with all teams) Juventus and Milan in Italy, then went to England to Chelsea and after two years in France to Paris Saint-Germain. Once learned English and French, the globetrotting coach moved to Spain with Real Madrid, where in two years he failed to win the national championship but in return he won the Champions League, the tenth in the history of the Spanish club. Not satisfied with the long European tour, in 2016 he arrived in Germany becoming the coach of Bayern Munich, the most titled German team in history and in his first year he won the national championship. With four titles won in four different European countries, he equals five legendary coaches who had managed the feat: Giovanni Trapattoni, Ernst Happel, Tomislav Ivić, José Mourinho, Eric Gerets.

The coach from Reggiolo, perhaps satisfied with the great goal achieved, takes a year off, dedicating himself to his passions which are cooking, good wine, cycling and his family. But like all great stars he cannot end his career so young and without trying to win something important again around Europe. And after only one year of break, he returns to Italy at the helm of an important club, Napoli, with the aim of making the team that in the last century was among the strongest in Europe win again thanks to its star player, Diego Armando Maradona. But destiny is not his friend and after only one year he leaves Italy again, returning to England to lead Everton, where in two years he does not win anything but he reaches the goal of 800 games as a coach in the five European countries.

We come to the last chapter of his extraordinary and unique career. In 2021, Real Madrid called him again to coach the "blancos" who were in crisis of results. Ancelotti accepts the challenge and at the end of the season hits the Guinness World Record, winning the national title in the fifth different European country, thus becoming the only coach in history capable of such an epic feat.
