Together, the groups are restarting protests from last year concerning the Christopher Columbus Statue located on Abriendo Avenue in the Mesa Junction. Their goal is for the statue — which they say is an "eyesore" —  to be removed, noting research that conflicts with information taught in public school curriculums.
