Aakenbaaken & Kent Publishers is pleased to announce the release of Sinatra’s Tailor-An Italian Immigrant’s Story, available for purchase at bookstores, directly from the publisher at Aakenbaakeneditor.com, and online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and everywhere books are sold.

Sinatra’s Tailor, by Mark A. Thompson, is the remarkable coming-of-age story of Umberto Autore, orphaned as a young boy in Italy during WWII and raised by “nuns and Nazis”. He eventually immigrated to America where he became the tailor to Frank Sinatra and the “Rat Pack” and many other Hollywood luminaries, including Steven Spielberg.

In the current issue of Italian-America magazine, the most widely read magazine in the U.S. for people of Italian heritage, Miles Ryan Fisher--Editor-in-Chief, reviews Sinatra’s Tailor: “While World War II stories are naturally captivating, what separates this one from others is the spirited writing—Umberto’s playful personality radiating thanks to author Mark Thompson’s deft style. The likability of the title character and the quick pace of the story will make you look forward to every page. By the end of it, you’ll be hoping for a sequel.”

Thompson enjoys telling stories about iconoclasts and people who inspire, sometimes altering the course of history. During the International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009), Thompson toured the U.S. in An Evening With Galileo, a one-man musical stage play that he wrote to coincide with the 400th anniversary of the first recorded astronomical observations with a telescope by Galileo Galilei.
