Parmigiano Reggiano is finding more and more space as a top product among the large American supermarket chains. The consortium under which a number of Italian Parmigiano Reggiano producers are organized just signed an agreement with Whole Foods, one of the most important American high-end retail chains.
Thanks to this agreement, Parmigiano Reggiano coming from the region around Emilia and guaranteed by the Protected Designation Origin (PDO) label will become the first of this type of cheese on the shelves of the giant American retailer.
