Design Your Own Pasta At Your Favorite Restaurant

The popular pasta maker plans to equip restaurants with 3D food printers, allowing consumers to design, print and eat their own 'pasta a la mode'. Thick, thin, curly, square,round, or whatever style customers want their pasta to look like, the 3D food printers will not only make it possible but will give the consumer a brand new and exciting food experience, according to Barilla.

Several such printers have already been installed in a few restaurants in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Although still in the experimental stage, the pasta company hopes to go international by 2014. Barilla, which is one of the largest pasta producers in the world and retails in almost every market world wide, is the first food production company to see the possibilities of 3D printers in the food industry.
