While Riverboat Landing is long gone, Wilmingtonians can still catch their favorite balcony views of the Cape Fear at downtown's newest pizza restaurant, Marsello's. The Christiana family moved to the area from Cary to bring their Italian family recipes and Sicilian style pizza, opening up just before the summer season at 2 Market St.
While the menu is straightforward and keeps it to a minumum of four categories (pizza, sandwiches, salad and appetizers), diners will find a wide range of pizza toppings. The Sicialian style pizzas come sliced into square pieces and co-owner Jim Christiana said the crust is somewhere between a thin New York crust and thick Chicago deep-dish. The square trays are massive, with one full tray of pizza ($32) equating to two large takeout size pizzas, with 24 pieces to split between a table of guests.
