A local Travis business received an honorable citation from the city’s public advocate for feeding Central and South American migrants that have been sent to the community as they seek asylum. Owners of the business, Verde’s Pizza and Pasta House, over the past few weeks have fed dozens of migrants simply out of the kindness of their hearts.
Public Advocate Jumaane D. Williams hand delivered the honorable citation to Sebastian and Danielle Bongiovani on Wednesday. “The one thing that we just have to know, even as we are discussing issues and the very real issues of asking how things are going to impact peoples lives,” said Williams.
