Congratulations to the Lanzi family celebrating the 100 Year Anniversary of their family-owned restaurant business last night at a small socially-distant celebration. It was an honor and a privilege to present a proclamation from the New York State Assembly recognizing an amazing history that started when Luigi and Amalia Lanzi opened Lanzi’s Annex Italian Restaurant on Bridge Street on the south side of the City of Amsterdam, NY in 1920, beginning the Lanzi family’s journey into the restaurant business.
As we pause to acknowledge the past 100 years of the Lanzi family business and celebrate their success we also thank them for them for their service and contributions to our wonderful community, and continuing their family’s legacy, most recently, returning to their family’s roots on Amsterdam’s south side opening “Lorenzo’s Southside”
