Uh-oh, I thought, as I approached the free-standing Tazza Osteria & Bar in Fairfield, yet another Italian restaurant to open in the area. Nothing new here, I anticipated.But after I opened the nondescript-looking menu I began to change my tune, and when the small plates arrived, my apprehensions had disappeared.
Dishes include grilled octopus. Credit Lisa Wiltse for The New York Times Tazza Osteria seats a total of 114 (dining room, bar and heated porchlike annex) and is doing big things.
