Spring has officially arrived and while steady progress with vaccines has loosened restrictions across the country, Europe remains largely off limits to American travelers. Unfortunately, while this does mean you probably won’t have the opportunity to catch the blossoming lemon trees or blooming lavender fields of Southern Italy this year, there’s still a way for you to catch the sights, scents and flavors of the Sorrento Coast without leaving the country.
This week, double-Michelin-starred restaurateur Mario Iaccarino unveiled his American debut with the opening of Casa Don Alfonso at the Ritz-Carlton St. Louis, expanding a hospitality empire that began in 1973 with Don Alfonso 1890 in Sant’Agata, Italy. Bringing Sorrento to St. Louis through ambiance, hospitality and family recipes, Casa Don Alfonso invites you to the Iaccarino household without leaving the States, immersing you in Italian warmth from aperitivo to digestivo.
