Antonio Race is coming home. Well, technically Naples, Italy, is home for the chef. But Fort Collins comes in a close second. After 15 years away from the Choice City, Race, 53, recently returned to reinvigorate an old concept in his former repertoire of Italian restaurants, wine bars and pizzerias.
Race plans to open Ciao Vino Wine Bar, a traditional Italian wine bar, at 255 Linden St. this spring. It will mark the second iteration of Ciao Vino, which Race first opened at 126 W. Mountain Ave. in 2000. Race co-owned the wine bar until 2002, when he turned his shares over to then-partners Pat Stryker and Joe Zimlich and stepped back to focus on his other ventures, according to Coloradoan archives.
