Siciliano Subs has opened on West Franklin Street adding big Italian-style deli subs, salads and Cuban sandwiches to the ever-growing Franklin food roster. Siciliano Subs is our newest eatery on West Franklin Street. David and Danielle Hodge are the owners – and the chefs, servers and everything else.
Siciliano (pronounced “Sisly-ano”) is Danielle’s maiden name, and they named the restaurant in honor of her Italian father. The couple has moved between Evansville and Miami, which has shaped their tastes in food. David is from here, and Danielle is of Cuban and Italian descent, born and raised in South Florida. They met years ago when she was training in Evansville to be a black jack dealer for then-Aztar Casinos, where David worked. She stayed here for a time, but eventually, the couple moved back to Miami.
