Billing itself as the only pizzeria in Scotch Plains and surrounding areas that specializes in artisanal Roman Square Pizza, Massa Pizza (Park Ave., Scotch Plains) offers “a curated selection of imported Italian specialties in a small but casual atmosphere,” according to its website.
Since its opening, the eatery has received many rave reviews, but none as glowing as the one from New Jersey’s top food critic, Peter Genovese, who on January 1 hailed Massa’s Amatriciana slice No. 1 among “The 50 Dishes You Need to Eat in N.J. in 2020.” He had previously named Massa one of his “Top 10 Pizzerias in New Jersey.”
