The ninth-annual Taste of Italy, an evening of authentic Italian food, wine, and entertainment to benefit the Italian American Museum of Los Angeles (IAMLA), will take place on October 14 in downtown Los Angeles.
Taste of Italy showcases the region’s top restaurants, and award-winning wineries, as well as live entertainment, chef demonstrations, and celebrity guests. There will be a charming beer garden, presented by Birra Moretti, Italy’s signature beer produced using a process unchanged since 1859. Guests will be invited to try their luck at a game of bocce in the Birra Moretti Bocce Court, and enjoy their favorite Italian cocktails at Caffé Fernet Branca, featuring the iconic amaro from Milano, made with a secret family recipe handed down from generation to generation.
Participants will include: Drago Centro, Angelini Osteria, Il Fornaio, Di Stefano Cheese, Valentino, Prova Pizzeria, Celestino, Grom, Il Fornaio, Urbani Truffles, Nerano, Prosciutto di Parma, and Black Market Gelato, the U.S. finalist of the Gelato World Tour.
Taste of Italy brings the diversity of Italian cuisine to Los Angeles. Drago will feature their signature house made garganelli pasta with fennel pollen and lamb ragú, Prova Pizzeria will offer the authentic Neapolitan pizza fired in a wood burning oven, and Carrara Pastries will delight with the creations of Food Network star Damiano Carrara, including panna cotta and frittelle (cream puffs).
Performances by LA Opera, Michela Musolino and Nick D'Egidio and the Dry Martini Orchestra.
Proceeds from the event will support programming at the Italian American Museum of Los Angeles. www.IAMLA.org
