By profession, Tottenville resident Sal Finocchiaro works in his own accounting business. Yet the bean counter had a hankering for the restaurant business -- opening his first venture, Palermo’s Pizzeria in Richmond Valley. “That’s my secret weapon -- the 70-year old from Sicily,” said Finocchiaro, nodding to the man working on a cheese pie behind the counter.
That pizzaiolo would be Frank “Cicco” Macaudi. His deft hands, as well as those of veteran pie makers Angelo Santana, Dario D’Aubert and Peter Savona, make the pies stand out. D’Aubert and Savona have partnered with the freshman food service man.
