Paychex founder and billionaire philanthropist Tom Golisano donated his yacht last week to rescue dogs and deliver supplies in the storm-ravaged Bahamas. Hurricane Dorian slammed Grand Bahama and Abaco Islands earlier this month as a major Category 5 storm. The death toll stands at 50 people, a number that is likely to rise. The disaster has prompted a massive relief and rescue mission.
Golisano, chairman of the Golisano Foundation, offered his yacht, the Laurel, to transport 30 tons of supplies, including water, food and sanitation kits, from Nassau to Freeport, according to a news release. The vessel was used Sept. 6, 7, and 8. YachtAid Global organized the effort.
