Grand Island now has four smart men sitting on benches. A figure of St. Francis of Assisi has taken a seat next to St. Mary’s Cathedral, joining similar sculptures of Albert Einstein, Mark Twain and George Washington around the community.
The Assisi sculpture will be close to the adoration chapel being planned by the Catholic Diocese of Grand Island. The artwork is dedicated to the clergy of the Grand Island diocese.
