If you’ve only thought of Rimini as a seaside resort on the Adriatic that swells with summer tourists — think again. This northern Italian city in the Emilia Romagna region is being reborn as an inviting, four-season epicenter of art and culture.
The coming year, 2020, marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of the city’s most famous citizens, filmmaker Federico Fellini, who was born and died in Rimini, and whose fanciful movies memorialize the place where he spent much of his youth. The city has been preparing for this centennial celebration for quite some time.
