Man files lawsuit over city announcing removal of Christopher Columbus statue

Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther announced Thursday the Christopher Columbus statue gifted to the city from Genoa, Italy in 1955 will be taken down from City Hall. One man has now filed a lawsuit following the announcement.

Michael Young is asking there to be "proper legislation" in order for the statue to be removed. He, like some others, are upset it will be removed. However, many others said they're glad it's coming down. "I want it to come down," said one man who did not want to give us his name, but says he's a Columbus resident.
