Magazzino Italian Art reopens!

We are thrilled to announce that starting this Friday, July 10, 2020, we will begin welcoming the public back to the museum. We invite you to book a visit this summer at magazzino.art/booking.  We have been working in close coordination with state, regional, and local guidelines of the phased reopening in the Mid-Hudson region to implement the highest standards of new protocols to ensure the health and safety of our staff, visitors, and broader community.

Key changes include a mandatory advance reservation system and the on-site distribution of EGOpro devices to each visitor, making Magazzino the first museum in the United States to adopt the new social distancing technology

To mark our reopening, we will present Homemade, a special exhibition of contemporary art created by eight New York-based Italian artists during the time of self-quarantine. Homemade is the first exhibition of contemporary art on-site in the museum’s history. The exhibition will be on view in Gallery 8, which will continue to be the museum’s dedicated special exhibition space for future projects.

We are also excited to share our plans to create a drive-in movie theater at the museum to screen our annual film festival, Cinema in Piazza, which will include screenings of Luca Vitone's Romanistan (2019) and Andrea Mastrovito’s animated feature film I Am Not Legend (2020) to be held in August.

For visitors who are unable to come to the museum in person, we will continue to create new online content to complement on-site exhibitions and programs, all of which will remain available on the museum’s Magazzino da Casa webpage.

We can’t wait to see you soon!
