Montavilla continues to expand its culinary scene, as the neighborhood gets ready to welcome Sebastiano’s, a mom and pop Sicilian deli. Opening this spring, Sebastiano’s will have muffuletta and Sicilian pizzas, wines by the glass and by the bottle to go, an aperitivo hour, and Italian kitchen staples like olive oils, sauces, and other goods.

Sebastiano’s comes from husband and wife Daniel and Elise Gold, who met at the Culinary Institute of America. They decided to open an Italian deli while on a trip to Sicily, where Elise Gold’s family is from. The shop is going into the small cafe space once inhabited by Heartbreaker Neighborhood Kitchen, and will feature shelves stocked with wines (with an emphasis on Sicilian ones) and pantry sundries like olive oils and pasta sauces.
