Isabel: 100 years of living

The table was set with the delicate cups used for the special black coffee, demitasse, which was a ritual for the late afternoon for Isabel Fusco. The anisette decanter was prominently displayed on the table with biscotti and other treats. It was a pleasant day in Century Village, and I was visiting a friend of mine.

There I was, sitting with Isabel, a lovely lady with her bright eyes twinkling, animated as she related memories of our first meeting in the Village 12 years ago. She celebrated her 100th birthday last year, and quite a centennial it was. She was honored with a gala party that covered several generations.
