Sausage will be grilling, families will be dancing and dads will be honored as Onesti Entertainment hosts its 26h annual Italian Block Party-Oakley Avenue Festa Pasta Vino on Father’s Day weekend, June 14 to 16. The Father’s Day tradition will feature Italian food specialties representing generations-old recipes from the restaurants located in Chicago’s Little Tuscany at 24th Street and Oakley Avenue. “People love the event because it’s like going to your aunt’s house for a huge family picnic,” says event producer Ron Onesti.
Rosie & The Rivets, Diva Montell, Tony Ocean, Nick Pontarelli, Johnny Maggio, Jack Miuccio, Vince Chiarelli, Joe Martino, Vince Amore and many other acts will make up the lineup of continuous family entertainment. “The entertainment is fabulous and non-stop,” Onesti says. “But it’s really about the food. It’s traditional, homemade and some of the best in Chicago.” La Fontanella, Bacchanalia, Il Vicinato and Ignotz Ristorante are the generations-old restaurants providing family recipes and other culinary delights.
