Last month, the former Pullman Plaza Hotel officially reopened as a DoubleTree by Hilton and introduced a new pub called Bootleggers. The newly remodeled hotel has another new restaurant. Located in the former banquet room is a new Italian restaurant named Doppio Albero. The restaurant (whose name is Italian for "Double Tree") offers guests a variety of Italian favorites in the evenings as well as a breakfast buffet and a rotating lunch buffet on weekdays.
"We started renovating the restaurant area about a year ago. It was Rick Dinah, the regional director of operations of DoubleTree, who came up with the idea to put in an Italian restaurant," said Kevin Sears, a host at Doppio Albero. "He has family recipes that have been passed down. Everything in here has been completely redone - new carpeting, new tile, new light fixtures and new furniture. Part of the kitchen was redone as well. They started work construction and renovation here about a year ago. We reopened on the first of May."
