Bloomfield's Bucco Restaurant opened in April, adding a new place to eat in the bustling downtown. This upscale Italian/American restaurant was opened by Frank Bucco and his business partner and girlfriend Jennifer DenBoer. Bucco’s father owned a restaurant also called Bucco in Clifton for 20 years before losing his lease.
Now, Bucco’s father is retired and he’s carried on the family restaurant business by running the new Bucco in Bloomfield. Bucco, a Montclair native who currently lives in Bloomfield, says he attended Bergen Community College for culinary arts, but most of his education comes from 37 years in the business under his father at the previous Bucco. Chef James Kopic, of Clifton, mans the kitchen.
