Amazon Brings in Corning CEO to Board, Will Let International Business Chief Take Leave

By Greg Bensinger Inc. appointed a new director to its board and said it is granting a two-year leave to its head of international business. The Seattle retailer said Diego Piacentini, 55 years old, is leaving the company for two years, beginning in August in order to work as the head of the Italian prime minister's digital technology office.

Mr. Piacentini has been with Amazon since 2000, serving most recently as senior vice president of international consumer business. Russ Grandinetti, senior vice president of Kindle content, will replace Mr. Piacentini for the duration of his leave, the company said.
