After 3 years representing Italy in Los Angeles, Consul General Perrone will end his mandate in September. "It has been a great honor to serve Italy in City of Angels and in the South-West of the US," he indicated, extending his gratitude "to local authorities, business and individuals for their outstanding cooperation and partnership." "Witnessing every day the appreciation Italy enjoys has been a unique reward for the efforts made by the Consulate General and its dedicated staff.

My deepest thanks - he added - go also to the staff of the Italian Trade Commission, Italian Cultural Institute, Tourist Board, Com.It.Es. and IACCW for being such effective advocates of Italian, business, culture and art." Consul General Perrone's next assignment will be at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome as Deputy Director General for Political Affairs and Principal Director for the Mediterranean and the Middle East.

We in New Mexico extend sincere mille grazie to Consul General Perrone for his service and support of all things Italian in our state. His visit in April 2013 was the impetus for this newsletter and for a statewide effort to promote Italian culture, celebrate our Italian heritage and bring New Mexico's Italian community closer together. Those who had the privilege of meeting and working with him are especially grateful for his responsive and enthusiastic commitment to this initiative. He was truly a friend to our state. We send warm good wishes for Consul General Perrone's next assignment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
