The banks of the Arkansas River resembled a scene out of Italy as the inaugural Arkansas Italian Food and Culture Festival took over North Shore Riverwalk Park this weekend. "Maybe the best thing of all with all the incredible food, the incredible wine, incredible activities is all the money goes to the Boys & Girls Club of Central Arkansas," festival co-founder Patrick Presley said.
Presley is Director of Development for the Boys & Girls Club of Central Arkansas, which has goals of extending hours on weekends at its six locations. "Through the success of events like this, we're hoping we can do that," he said. "Keeping a club open on a Saturday or maybe opening on a Sunday makes all the difference in the world to so many kids of all ages." Thousands attended the 2-day festival, which featured Italian food, wine and entertainment.
