Italian born conductor Speranza Scappucci recently made a successful Vienna debut acclaimed by the public and critics alike with La Traviata and La Cenerentola at the Vienna State Opera. In February 2017, she was the first female conductor to direct the orchestra in the annual Vienna Opera Ball. She is considered one of the most interesting conductors of her generation on the international scene.
