Gioachino Rossini's comedic opera, Il Barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville) will be performed by New York City's Dicapo Opera Theatre (Michael Capasso, General Director) in Italian with English supertitles and with a full orchestra.
The Barber of Seville was the first opera to be sung in Italian in New York City in 1825.
The event begins at 6:45 with a special Performance PLUS! lecture, in which a professor from Hutton House Lectures will explain the cultural context of the show.
