A memorial mass honoring the Rev. Vincent R. Capodanno will be offered by the Rev. Louis Jerome, pastor of St. Peter’s R.C. Church, on Saturday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m. at Fort Wadsworth, one of the oldest U.S. military installations in the country.
The outdoor celebration, which is weather permitting, will take place near the chapel that bears Father Capodanno’s name. A monument and bronze sculpture there depicts him ministering last rites to a dying soldier on the battlefield in Vietnam.
