Angelo R. Lauro, 87, of Providence, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 3, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Jean M. (Rachiele) Lauro for 65 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Angelo and Helen (Bellini) Lauro. Angelo was the owner and operator of Bellini Jewelers in Johnston.
He was a member of the RI Order Sons of Italy – Piave Lodge 364 and was Jr. Vice Commander of the National Order Sons of Italy. An Army Veteran of the Korean War, he served as Quartermaster for the State of Rhode Island Italian American War Veterans and was a member of the American War Veterans. He was also a member of the Rosario Society, Verrazano Committee and the NRA.
