
The Italian American One Voice Coalition, a national organization dedicated to defending Italian Americans against bias and defending their heritage, is campaigning to save Columbus Day in Vermont. The group is based in Bloomfield NJ. Andre DiMino, Communications Director of the organization, was a guest on WDEV Radio Vermont and the Gene Valicenti Show in Rhodes Island earlier Tuesday to discussthe state's plan to replace Columbus Day with Indigenous People's Day.
The Vermont legislature reently passed a bill that would change Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples' Day. The bill is waiting the governor's signature. Vermont has been celebrating Indigenous People's Day for years, the recent bill is a formality.
