After decades breathing life into patients and into local history, Dr. Frank J. DeMaio Jr. now is ready for his own chapter to be written into the ongoing story of Vineland. DeMaio, who practiced medicine here for more than half a century, died Wednesday night at the age of 90 after what the family said was a short illness. He was being treated at Inspira Medical Center Vineland, a facility that includes the Dr. Frank DeMaio Education Center.
DeMaio, whose wife Grace died last year, is to be buried Monday after a morning viewing followed by an 11:30 a.m. funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church at 1010 East Landis Avenue in Vineland. The couple were married at the church.
