It was an “el Dolce Vita” homecoming for local author and playwright Midge Guerrera who returned recently from Italy for a public reading and discussion of her new book, “Cars, Castles, Cows and Chaos” at Verve Bistro and Restaurant in Somerville.
The Hillsborough native spends part of the year in New Jersey and the remainder in the mountain village of Pontelandolfo. But visiting there for the first time 25 years ago, little did she realize then that trip would begin an ongoing love affair with the town’s people, customs and culture and inspire her to write a book about her experiences.
