Congratulations to NIAF member Cav. John Scarpati for his community efforts, which restored the Christopher Columbus statue in Mercer County, Hamilton, N.J. The statue, that for many in the local Italian American community stood as a reminder of Italian culture, had recently been vandalized.

Scarpati and the Mercer County Italian-American Festival Association (MCIAFA) raised money to not only restore the statue, but hold a rededication ceremony to formally celebrate the Italian American community of Mercer County.
