Residents have an opportunity to enjoy the "sweet Italian life" and to help preserve a piece of history at the Italian Family Festa, sponsored by the Italian American Heritage Foundation. The Festa, which takes place on Aug. 23 and 24 at Guadalupe River Park, is free and begins at 11 a.m. both days, and closes at 8 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday.
Old standards such as bocce, music, a bevy of foods and grape stomping will be available for all to try. A wide variety of arts and crafts booths will dot the festival grounds and feature jewelry, hats, gourmet foods and children's crafts.
