Founders of Italian American Heritage Foundation in San Jose to be honored

The Italian American Heritage Foundation is honoring the surviving two founders of the group at the upcoming Un Ballo d'Amore.


The first is Joe Guerra Jr., a longtime Willow Glen resident who with his brother Louie worked in his family's grocery story on S. First Street, eventually turning it into a sporting goods store. Guerra later went into real estate. The other honoree is Larry Marsalli, a former mayor of Santa Clara who also served in the city's Volunteer Fire Department from 1946 to 1967. A park in Santa Clara is named in his honor.
