It has been many years since Ol’ Blue Eyes graced the stage in Las Vegas and 23 years since his last live performance at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, California. Many of us still miss that man. We miss his dulcet tones, the way he captured an audience from the very first note, taking them to great heights with “Fly Me To the Moon” and plunging them to the depths of loneliness with “One For My Baby,” touching on every emotion in between, sharing his soul with us through his music.
Memories of many Frank Sinatra shows at Vegas casinos – The Sands, Caesars Palace, Desert Inn, Golden Nugget – came flooding back the other day when we saw the press release from the Italian American Club announcing a tribute to the Chairman of the Board on Friday, May 4, featuring tribute artist Dave Halston.
