Ciao from the Appennines in Emilia Romagna! We are taking a few days of rest here in the wonderful mountains in the Modena province, but we actually just moved We the Italians up here, we never stop. Here we are with another month, another editorial, another wonderful magazine about Italy, from your friends at We the Italians!

First of all, I’d like to recommend not to lose the interview with Mary Anne Trasciatti, the second one in this number. Every page of our magazine is to be read, of course, but this interview is about a very important anniversary. 90 years ago, on August 23 1927, Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were executed by electric chair. This is a fundamental story to understand the Italian American experience of those years, and we’re glad we could talk with an expert about it, letting us and our readers know more on this.

We the Italians has signed an agreement with a brand new very prestigious Italian association, named Cultura Italiae. Thanks to this agreement, we will be able to better show and help the Italian culture, our beautiful country’s heritage and pride. We are very committed on doing so, both here in Italy and in the United States. Very good things will come to you all from this agreement!

Our good friend Luca Martera is an exceptional author and director, who has been working his entire career showing the relationship between Italy and the US in cinema and television. Here is his interview from a few years ago. Now Luca has a brand new project, a live documentary, something completely new. Luca’s show is about how America’s showbiz has depicted the Italians, but also viceversa: have you ever wondered how Italian showbiz has depicted the Americans through the years? We the Italians is sponsoring, through all the Italian American associations who read this editorial, the possibility of hosting Luca’s show. Please, take a look here and if you have questions, you can contact Luca. This is a lot of fun, and very educational!

We’re ending this summer editorial with a video shot in one of our beautiful Italian beaches, between Marche and Emilia Romagna regions, with an astonishing Italian surprise. Take a look, we’re sure you will like it as much as we did. Viva l’Italia!

Please remember that our new book is out. At the beginning of every year we will publish a yearbook about the year before, and so this is the We the Italians 2016 yearbook: with all the interviews done, both in English and Italian. It is a useful tool to know more about Italy and the US and also to learn or refresh the knowledge of our wonderful Italian language. It can be bought and/or donated here.

We encourage you to join us in our social media presence: Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube!

That’s all for now. So stay tuned, fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride. The future’s so bright, we gotta wear shades!
